Dungey Dougherty PLLC is seeking a private client lawyer with 4+ years of experience. Expected 40-hour work week with flexible scheduling and option for remote work; salary is competitive and reflects the value we place on members of the team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience working with cross-border private clients on tax and succession-planning matters. A broad foundation in U.S. federal and State tax law is valuable, and an ability to conduct research and technical analysis of tax and trust matters is necessary. An ability to draft Wills, trusts, ancillary estate planning documents, and basic transactional documents is also necessary. An ability to speak, read or write in Spanish is a plus.
Must be able to directly interact with clients, CPAs, and financial advisors.
Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of New York or Connecticut.
Responsibilities
- Work in coordination with foreign counsel to design and implement cross-border transactions and holding structures that optimize tax and administrative efficiency
- Research and analyze technical income, gift and estate tax issues
- Draft core estate planning documents such as Wills, trusts, and ancillary documentation
- Draft documentation relating to the operation and restructuring of trusts and asset holding structures
- Draft basic transactional documentation for closely-held companies
- Advise clients on international tax reporting for individuals, entities and trusts
- Assist in preparing materials for CLEs and professional articles for publication
